Peter Clifford was recently elected President-Elect of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. He also serves as a State Delegate to the American Association for Justice, (“AAJ,” formerly known as “ATLA”).
Peter Clifford’s most recent article, on foreclosure defense, will be published in an upcoming August, 2009 edition of Maine Lawyers Review. His most recent previous article, on alternative dispute resolution, was published in June, 2009. A selection of his articles is listed in the website.
In July of 2009, Steve Hodsdon won an appeal in an important property rights case addressed by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Lakeside at Pleasant Mountain Condominium Association v. Town of Bridgton, 2009 ME 64 (recognizing an easement on Lakeside’s property on behalf of H and C client Shawnee Peak Holdings Inc., for access to Moose Pond).
In June, 2009, Pete Clifford won a trial in a lender liability/foreclosure case, addressing, inter alia, whether the doctrine of unconscionability can be raised as an affirmative defense in a foreclosure action.
