For nearly ten years, our firm has provided excellent service to our Maine clients. We founded the firm in December, 2000, when we combined our growing practices. Both of us have practiced in Kennebunk for many years. We have an excellent, committed legal staff of three legal assistants, with more than 60 years combined experience. Our assistants, Debbi Cole, Deb Mosher and Lisa Hodsdon, have been with us continuously since our firm's founding.
Steve Hodsdon has a large and well established real estate practices in York County. He has a great deal of experience handling both complex transactions and commercial litigation. He was raised in Bangor, Maine, and currently lives in Kennebunk with his family. He has over 30 years of experience, representing banks, developers, businesses and individuals. He has many loyal, long-term clients, earned through a pragmatic, problem-solving approach to legal problems. His practice includes commercial and residential real estate transactions, criminal matters, banking, business law, family law and trusts and estates.
Pete Clifford is a plaintiff's lawyer, representing individuals who are facing difficult, life-changing problems, such as serious injuries or economic losses. He made the decision to represent everyday people, not large corporations, after working for a leading insurance defense law firm in Portland. Pete grew up in Lewiston, Maine, with six brothers and sisters. He lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife Stephanie, two daughters, Meghan and Olivia, and a son, Nick. Pete handles business and real estate litigation, wrongful death, personal injury and malpractice, products liability, insurance disputes, will contests and estate litigation. He is also an experienced mediator, having mediated more than 100 cases for other attorneys. Since 2008, he has been listed by
New England Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the top attorneys in Maine. He enjoys the Red Sox and Celtics, B.C. football, short story writing, skiing and running.
Steve Hodsdon and Peter Clifford are pleased to announce that Hodsdon & Clifford, LLC has hired Matthew Williams as an Associate Attorney, upon his anticipated admission to the Bar in September, 2009.
Matt grew up in Kennebunk and currently lives in town with his wife, Christine. He graduated from The Colorado College with a B.A. in English in 1999 and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in May, 2009. Before going to law school, he worked as a mortgage originator for Ocean National Bank. He also worked as a summer law clerk for Hodsdon & Clifford (2007) and a law firm in the Lewiston-Auburn area (2008). In his final year at the University of Maine School of Law, Matt was on the editorial board of the Maine Law Review and was a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic.
Matt will be joining the firm upon his admission to the Bar in September, 2009.
